2 women killed; 11-month-old wounded in South Side shootings

CHICAGO – Two women were killed in a shooting on Chicago’s South Side Monday night that also wounded a baby and two men.

Police say the group was arriving home around 7:30 p.m. from a “family outing” when someone opened fire in the in the 5300 block of S. Aberdeen.

Police say the baby an 11-month-old was wounded and taken to the hospital.  The baby is stable with non-life threatening injuries.

The baby's 23-year-old mother and the baby's 46-year-old grandmother were wounded and taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

Two men were also wounded.  One is in critical condition at the hospital.  One is stable with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate.
