Remembering Harry Volkman

GLENVIEW, Ill. -- A legendary weatherman who once worked at WGN was remembered Sunday.

Harry Volkman was honored at a memorial service in Glenview, Ill. Volkman died of a respiratory ailment back in August. He informed and entertained Chicagoans for more than four decades on four TV stations.

He inspired WGN’s very own Tom Skilling to go into the forecasting business.
