Classes canceled for 7th day in Prospect Heights as teachers strike continues
PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill. — Students in Prospect Heights schools are off again today as the District 23 teachers strike moves into its 7th school day.
The teachers union resoundingly rejected the board’s earlier proposal and offered a counter proposal.
The district offered a four-year contract with 3-percent raises every year for teachers earning $90,000 or less. The union’s demanding a minimum of 4-percent over a 3-year contract.
Parents and students are getting frustrated. They just want the students to get back to school.
