Suggestions:

Enroll in a certificate program at your local community college to jump-start a new career. Spend some time researching viable options before deciding.

Apply for an apprenticeship at a company. They combine real work experience with some coursework and training and can last 2-4 years.
Check DOL.gov/apprenticeship for available ones in your area.
