CHICAGO - For once die hard sports fans in the Windy City could say a different refrain on Sunday.
"At least we have the Cubs."
The last time someone in Chicago might have heard that was 2008 when the Cubs were good and the Bears were average. Since then either the Bears have been good or bad and the Cubs have just been the latter.
But with the Cubs enjoying a renaissance under manager Joe Maddon and the Bears deep in rebuild with John Fox, finding sporting joy this fall starts in Wrigleyville.
That was the main theme of WGN Radio host Mark Carman's appearance on Sports Feed on Monday night. He talked about the Bears' debacle against the Cardinals on Sunday while also discussing his high hopes for the Cubs in the playoffs. He also talked about Patrick Kane's appearance at Blackhawks training camp with Jarrett Payton and Josh Frydman.
