Police seek suspect in suburban home invasion

DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Police have stepped up patrols in the north suburbs as they work to identify three men involved in a home invasion.

Surveillance video captured the incident that occurred Thursday night around 7:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of Inverrrary Lane in unincorporated Deerfield.

Police say two children, under the age of 10 were playing outside the front door when a car pulled up.

One man waited inside the care while two others got out and forced the boys inside the house where one of them lives.  That boy’s father was inside.

The men took $500 in cash and $10,000 in jewelry.

No one was hurt.

Police are looking into whether the home was targeted.
