CHICAGO -- Chicago police were searching for someone who shot a woman as she was taking out her garbage in the city's Pill Hill neighborhood.
The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Chicago police say the 48-year-old woman was shot several times while taking out the garbage at 93rd and Chappel.
Relatives identified her as Jacqueline Swint.
They said she was shot seven times.
Swint was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Hospital, but her brother told WGN-TV she is expected to survive.
Police haven't arrested anyone, but they said the victim's son was in a scuffle with someone a few hours before the shooting.
