Motorcyclist killed in Lockport hit-and-run; Police seek suspect

LOCKPORT, Ill. – Police are searching for a suspect in  a hit-and-run driver who smashed into motorcyclist Monday night in Lockport.

The motorcyclist,  35-year-old Robert Haag from New Lennox, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. Monday on State at 8th St.

Lockport police say the car and motorcycle were going opposite directions on State.  The car going was traveling South, the motorcycle was going North.

Police say the car made a left turn onto 8th in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle had nowhere to go and possibly hit the passenger side of the car and the motorcyclist hit the ground.

Witnesses called 911 and say the man in the car didn't stop.

Police are looking for a light colored, four-door sedan with possible rear passenger side damage.

The driver is a middle-aged man with dark hair.
