Bears kicker Robbie Gould sets franchise record for field goals

CHICAGO — Chicago Bears kicker Robbie Gould set a franchise record for field goals made during Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Gould, 33, nailed a 28-yard field goal in the first quarter to move ahead of Kevin Butler for the record. Gould has now made 244 field goals in his Bears career.

Gould reached the record with 285 field goal attempts in his career  for a success rate of 85.6 percent. Butler, who played from 1985-1995, had 332 attempts for a rate of 73.2 percent.

Bob Thomas is third all-time on the Bears with 128 field goals made in 205 attempts.
