U.S. News & World Report names top colleges

CHICAGO — US News and World Report just released its annual college rankings.

Ivy League schools make up the top three. Princeton University is on top, and Harvard and Yale are right behind it.

Illinois schools are well represented.

The University of Chicago is tied for 4th place.

Northwestern University is in 12th.

The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign is tied for 41st.

DePaul University is 123 overall, but its ranked 21 in a list of “most innovative” schools.

Wheaton College was named eighth best for undergraduate teaching.

Loyola University Chicago is 106th overall.

The Illinois Institute of Technology is 116th.

The University of Illinois at Chicago jumped 20 places, to No. 129, but Illinois State University fell to No. 149.
