CALCASIEU, La. - Pink dolphins are real. Their official name is the Amazon River Dolphin, and they are an endangered species.

One pink dolphin, however, is far from the Amazon River.

According to WGNO, "Pinky" is often seen swimming around Louisiana. People who live nearby see her so frequently that they named her.

Marine experts think "Pinky" might be pregnant. Researchers are curious to see if her baby will also be pink since the coloring could be genetics-related.

Pinky's mother has the typical, gray coloring that is often expected on dolphins.
