LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- It's been nearly a month since Alshon Jeffery practiced with the team, but today he made his long-awaited return. The Bears' star wideout has been nursing a strained left calf since the end of training camp. He was limited in drills, so his status for Sunday's home opener against the Packers is still up in the air.

As for the other side of the ball, Vic Fangio says he was not pleased with the defense's start to practice. They'll be tested right out of the gate with Aaron Rodgers coming to town - a quarterback with a release Fangio compares to Hall of Famer Dan Marino, only better.
