HAMBURG, NY– The grand jury investigation into rape allegations against Patrick Kane set to begin Tuesday was abruptly postponed, according to The Buffalo News, who cited three current and former law enforcement sources with knowledge of the case.

The paper reports that two of the sources said that the reason for the delay appears to involve the possibility of ongoing settlement talks between attorneys for Kane and the victim.

Even though Kane has yet to be criminally charged, the NHL can suspend Kane under the collective bargaining agreement for potentially damaging the league’s reputation.

Training camp for the Blackhawks starts September 18th in South Bend.  No word on whether or not Kane will be there.
