JOLIET, Ill. – Police have released a sketch of the suspect from a brutal sexual assault in the southwest suburbs.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, late 20s to early 30s, 5’8 to 5’10 with dark hair and a medium build.  He was wearing an orange long-sleeved shirt at the time of the attack.

Police say a 19-year-old woman was jogging on a path between Joliet and Rockdale Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m.

Police say the suspect was lying in wait and armed with a knife.  He appeared and  threw the woman to the ground and dragged her off the path into the woods at knifepoint.

The biking and jogging path runs just south of I-80 between Joliet and Rockdale along the Illinois and Michigan canal.
