HAMBURG, NY -- Grand jury proceedings reportedly begin today in the rape case against Patrick Kane.

WGRZ in Buffalo reports the friend of the accuser will testify today.

The accuser says Kane raped her at his home in Hamburg last month.

He was never arrested or charged with a crime.

But the NHL is keeping its distance by not inviting Kane to the league's media tour.

That's where the top 40-players get together to make TV promos for the upcoming season.

Blackhawks training camp starts in ten days, but the team did not say if Kane will be there.
