WESTVILLE, Ill. -- A van plowed into a crowd of people gathered for a Labor Day Parade in a small eastern Illinois community.

Eleven people were injured, including a two-year-old boy who suffered a fractured skull.

He's expected to be OK, and the 10 others have already been released from the hospital.

The vehicle hit parade goers on the west side of the route and then continued through an intersection and struck spectators on the east side of the street.

Police are trying to determine whether it was a medical issue, mechanical issue, or something else that caused the driver to veer off a side street and into the town square.

Westville is about 5 miles south of Danville.
