SAN FRANCISCO – Two hackers are now new Uber employees.

Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek are computer engineers who remotely took over a Jeep Cherokee last month.

They were hired to design a safety and security system for Uber.

Miller used to work for Twitter as a security researcher. He used the social media site to announce that he starts his new job tomorrow.

Working with the company’s chief security officers, the engineers will work out of the company’s lab in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The lab specializes in researching robotics and self-driving cars.
