Near North Side man charged with murder in stabbing incident

CHICAGO — A Near North Side man has been charged with murder in connection with a stabbing incident that happened Friday, according to a police statement Sunday.

Geno Rhodes, 27, of the 300 block of West Schiller St., was charged with one felony count of first degree murder, the statement said.

Police say Rhodes is accused of fatally stabbing a 48-year-old man in the back during a physical altercation on Aug. 21, 2015, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of North Burling St.

Rhodes is due in bond court Sunday.

Police did not provide any further details.
