CHICAGO-- When she was born Kiara Hood’s mother didn’t think she’d live a day.

Diagnosed with cerebral palsy and paralysis on half of her body, she has spent her life with teams of doctors and therapists.

On Friday, this Blue Island 14-year-old joined a team she never thought possible.

Friday was signing day for this high school freshman as she officially became a member of the Chicago Sky – for one day.
