CHICAGO — The severe weather on Tuesday night left thousands without power.

About 2500 ComEd customers are without power in the Chicago area as of about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

A flash flood warning for the Chicago area expired late Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning initially was in effect until 2 a.m., but was ended early when the risk of flooding was determined to be low, said Jamie Enderlen, a NWS meteorologist.
