NEW YORK, NY -- Some politicians in New York want a new zoning ordinance to keep topless performers out of Times Square.

It's legal to go topless in New York City.

But activists say some street performers, wearing only body paint, are abusing the law.

They pose with tourists for tips.

Some say it's giving Times Square a bad reputation and is not family friendly for tourists.

The new zoning idea would move the women and other costumed characters to a designated area along 7th Avenue.
