CHICAGO -- Michael Jordan testified in his civil trial against the former grocery store chain Dominick's on Tuesday.

Jordan was on the stand for about 30 minutes. He insisted he never gave Dominick's permission to use his name as part of a coupon offer, and didn't view the ad as consistent with his image.

He also emphasized he is very protective of his branding, and never agrees to any deals without consulting with his financial team and his mother.
