Police seek man suspected of robbing women at gun point in South Loop

CHICAGO – Police are searching for a suspect in a series of armed robberies in the South Loop that target women.

Police say the suspect took two purses from women. The first incident occurred on Aug 8 around 8:30 p.m in the 0-100 block of E. Cullerton St.
The second was just yesterday near 18th and Prairie around 8:30 a.m..

In both cases police say the suspect showed the victims a sliver handgun.

Police say the man filled up his tank using a victim’s credit card just 15 minutes after the first robbery. Police also say the car was reported stolen from Oak Park this past month.

The suspect is described as a black man, age 21-25, 5’4-5’10 and 135 lbs.
