Air & Water Show about to take flight in Chicago

CHICAGO --The Chicago Air & Water Show takes flight this weekend in Chicago.

WGN's Amy Rutledge got a taste of the skies herself and caught up with a young man who is having the summer of a lifetime up in the air.

16-years-old Joseph Karriem did aerobatics with the legendary Sean D. Tucker as part of the Young Eagles flight program.

Joseph has already spent the last seven weeks sharing his love of flying with eight other young Chicago students in the inaugural class of the Tuskegee Next Academy, a one of kind program debuted this year at the DuPage County airport which provides an intense training program for urban teens with aspirations of careers in aviation.  There Joseph earned his private pilot’s license at just 16-years-old.
