CHICAGO -- The video starts out with two Chicago Police officers walking onto the playground at the Milton Brunson Elementary School, talking to a group of a half dozen little kids. One appears to be on his radio momentarily before turning his attention to a little girl dressed in pink with braids in her hair.
He gives her a quick ride on the teeter-totter before she jumps off to join the rest of the group, which has surrounded the second officer.
The group chats for a few seconds, and then it's on to the monkey bars for everyone.
It was just a fleeting few moments; an officer lets his guard down and swings on the monkey bars – as a dad would – with some local kids. But given the climate between police officers and the communities they serve in Chicago and across the country, it was a moment that needed to be shared.
