CHICAGO -- Animal control and animal rescue groups are working to beat a 10 a.m. deadline today.
They've rescued more than 70 cats from the home in Belmont Central, and there are still more to go.
The home is abandoned and in foreclosure and is scheduled to be boarded up today.
Inside the home and out, there've been more than 100 cats, and that's just an estimate.
Right now there's a call for help to find homes for these cats - even if they're temporary.
Paws Chicago and Tree House are spaying, neutering and providing other healthcare.
They're hoping to get them all out before the city begins to board the home up.
