Live grenade found outside McDonald’s in Maryland
THURMONT, Md. — A groundskeeper at a McDonald’s in Maryland made a shocking discovery.
As he pulled up some bushes outside the restaurant, he noticed something metallic.
It was a hand grenade from the World War II era; and it was still live, with the pin left in it.
A bomb technician checked it out and removed it.
No one was hurt, and it’s not clear how long the grenade had been there.
A bomb and arson team will examine the site to determine whether there are any others.
