CHICAGO--A crowd estimated at around 500 protested cuts to state social service agencies in Chicago Monday.

The group rallied outside the Thompson Center.

Organizers say 90% of families who usually qualify for service will be left without the critical assistance they need to get by.

This month, 3000 service centers will not be paid and the people they serve will be turned away.
