DES PLAINES, Ill. -- A 60-year-old man in Des Plaines is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who was going to rent a room from him.

Farhad Tanzif is charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated criminal sexual assault.

A 43-year-old woman told police that she responded to a Craigslist ad on Wednesday and agreed to rent a room from Tanzif at his residence in the 1000 block of South River Road.

She says that as she was moving her possessions in, he barged into her new room, pinned her down and assaulted her, then held her a knife point to keep her from leaving.

In court Saturday, the Assistant State's Attorney said Tanzif told the alleged victim that he doesn't like American women because they don't listen.

A judge set Tanzif's bail at $5 million.
