Chicago Ald. David Moore attacked overnight

CHICAGO — A suspect is in bond court Sunday after allegedly attacking 17th Ward Ald. David Moore overnight.

Police confirmed Sunday that Moore was punched on a South Side street early Sunday while investigating reports of prostitution in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Moore had received a tip from constituents that prostitutes were working on the 7500 block of South Peoria.

When he arrived a man allegedly got angry punched him in the arm. The suspect ran away but was later arrested.

The suspect is due in bond court Sunday.

    Aw, come on now. Do you really think this guy was out at 3am to crack down on prostitution? That might have been the story he told his wife. And the cops needed his help.
