CHICAGO — Liliya Shobukhova is no longer a three-time Chicago Marathon champion.
All of the 37-year-old’s running titles, from October 2009 through 2011, are being stripped after the International Track Federation confirmed she has been banned for doping.
Officials say they plan on going after the three-time Olympian’s prize money, too.
Shobukhova won more than $1.5 million during those years, including a $1 million bonus as winner of the World Marathon Majors Series in 2009-10.
Shobukhova had been the only person to win three straight Chicago Marathons.
