CHICAGO — Congratulations are going out to Hersey and Carlos, proud new parents to a two-toed sloth at Lincoln Park Zoo.
The baby sloth was born on July 25th, according to zoo officials.
No word yet on if it is a boy or a girl because it has been spending all of its timing clinging tight to its mother. But the baby is healthy and nursing regularly, zoo officials say.
The whole family can be seen daily at the zoo’s Regenstein Small Mammal Reptile House from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
If you do visit be aware that sloths are “nocturnal so the infant and mother can be seen curled up in the canopy throughout the day and are more active towards the evening,” the zoo says.
