CHICAGO -- Anti-violence groups are celebrating small victories in and around the Englewood neighborhood.
One group called "Moms Against Senseless Killings" is hoping to expand its reach.
The moms involved in the group say there has been just one shooting in this area since they started about five weeks ago.
The group walks blocks and meets with people. Their goal is to create a family type atmosphere in the community. They BBQ and sometimes just sit and talk with people.
They want to expand to other parts of the city.
The group is recruiting anyone who wants to help. They have a website and Facebook page and while they feel they have helped make this area safer they know they are just one part of the solution. They give credit to to other groups and an increase police presence help as well.
