Man, 30, found dead in Zion after reports of shots fired

ZION, Ill. — A man was killed around midnight in Zion, Ill., Sunday, according to a statement released by the Zion Police Department.

Zion Police said officers received a call of shots fired in the area of 27th and Galilee Ave. Another caller reported hearing a vehicle crash.

Responders found the victim, a 30-year-old man, in a car at 26th and Galilee. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of death is under investigation. The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force and Zion Police Department are investigating the incident as a homicide.
