CHICAGO — All lanes of the Outbound Eisenhower were closed for a brief period Sunday morning because a woman was threatening to jump off a bridge.

Chicago Police responded to help the “emotionally distraught” woman who threatened to jump from the overpass into expressway traffic. Police were able to get her down.

The woman was taken to an area hospital. Her condition is unknown, but police say she doesn’t have any serious injuries.

All lanes are now reopen, according to the Illinois State Police. Minor backups remain.

This is a developing story.
