Two in custody after report of shots fired, police chase in Channahon

CHANNAHON, Ill. — A man and woman have been arrested after a foot chase with police in Channahon, Ill., after authorities received reports of shots fired.

According to the Herald-News, Illinois State Police assisted the Channahon Police Department in shutting down lanes of traffic as police pursued the two suspects for a weapons violation.

The report of shots fired came near Wilmington, Ill., and two were arrested at Arsenal Road in Channahon, state police confirmed to WGN.

One of the northbound lanes near the I-55 and Arsenal Road intersection will likely be shut down for some time as police investigate the incident, Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Fred Rivera told the Herald-News.

The identities of the suspects have not been released.
