INDIANAPOLIS -- A dog from Central Indiana is okay this morning thanks to some Indianapolis firefighters.

"Jimma," a stray pit bull got her head stuck in a discarded metal tire rim.

A woman who says she feeds strays, noticed the dog was stuck and took her to a nearby fire station Friday afternoon.

The firefighters were very careful, first trying to use soap and oil to free the dog from the rim. But it did not work, so they turned to electric tools normally used for extrication.

After some effort, they were able to cut the rim free from "Jimma" without hurting her.

The pup was a little shaken up but OK.
