Smartphone app leads police to ice cream thieves

WEST WEBER, Utah — A livestreaming smartphone app led police right to some teenage burglars.

The app is called Periscope.

Police in West Weber, Utah say two 16-year-olds were using the app last weekend as they broke into a semi-truck.

Several tubs of ice cream were stolen.

Someone who saw the theft online called police.

Even though the teens used a fake profile officers were able to locate them.

The teens now face burglary and theft charges.
