The attempted abduction occurred near the intersection of Gertrude and Morgan Streets

ELGIN, Ill. — An abduction attempt ended unsuccessfully Thursday night in Elgin when a man tried to kidnap a baby from a stroller.

According to police, a woman was walking near Gertrude and Morgan streets at about 8p.m. with the boy in a stroller and a young girl when an unmarked white cargo van made a U-turn and pulled up to them.

A man then jumped out of the vehicle and tried to take the boy.

Luckily the woman was able to hold on to the stroller and yell for help, which caused the man to run back to the van and speed off.

I have already written Senator Dick Durbin about a Constitutional Amendment that would authorize or allow the Death Penalty in cases of Human Trafficking. THAT SHOULD INCLUDE CHILD KIDNAPPING TOO, since children frequently are sold like puppies at a puppy mill, and some children that are kidnapped, also wind up as victims of Human Trafficking. Heads need to roll in order to stop problems such as this.
