The new Apple Watch isn’t turning into the must-have gadget Apple hoped it would be, according to one report.

When it first went on the market in April, Apple sold about 35,000 per day.

Now, three months later, some industry analysts say sales have tailed off to  5,000 a day.

Apple hasn’t publicly released any sales numbers since the original launch weekend.

But Slice Intelligence reports the 90 percent decrease in sales.

Still, the figures are questioned by some.

CNBC spoke with analyst Annette Zimmerman who says there’s figures missing.

“This company only counts online order confirmations in the U.S.; they can’t measure anything outside the U.S.,” she told CNBC. “There are other big economies like Germany and Japan where the watch is selling. The trend curve is probably similar (strong sales in the first weeks and then slowing after) there, but the U.S. sales do not tell the full story.”
