CHICAGO — Micah Materre’s mane has received a prestigious honor.

According to a website that routinely ranks the hair of on-air personalities, Micah won the HAIRRY-Award for the best hair among Illinois newswomen.

The website writes:

“One time, Micah was in line at the hottest club in Chicago and some idiot cut in front of her! Micah’s hair immediately pushed him into the curb and he crawled away like a little baby. Okay, obviously that’s not true. Micah would never be waiting in a line. Girl, please.”

This is not the first time WGN has been recognized for having an anchor or reporter with awesome hair. WGN’s Marcus Leshock was the 2015 runner-up for the best hair among Illinois newsmen. WGN sports anchor Pat Tomasulo won the HAIRRY-Award for best hair back in 2014.

Micah Materre co-anchors WGN Evening News and WGN News at Nine with Mark Suppelsa every weekday. You can follow her on Twitter and Facebook.

Not that I would disagree, but this is a joke right….really a best hair award and nothing for substance.
I would expect Cheryl Scott (sorry WGN) to clean up on all these cheesecake accolades.
