Blackhawks will open training camp at Notre Dame
CHICAGO – Stan Bowman is still trying to sort through the money situation that keeps the Blackhawks’ 2015-2016 roster in a bit of flux just a week after free agency in the NHL began.
But at least he knows where the team he builds will start working to defend the Stanley Cup this September.
On Monday the Blackhawks announced that training camp will begin at the University of Notre Dame on September 18th. They will hold workouts at the Compton Family Ice Arena until the 20th and then return to Chicago for the team’s annual training camp festival on September 21st.
It’s the third-straight year that Blackhawks will open their training at the relatively new arena built for the University of Notre Dame’s hockey team. Information on tickets for the practices will be announced at a later date.
The Blackhawks also solidified plans for the training camp festival at the United Center on September 21st. Tickets for the event are five dollars and go on sale on July 17th. The first 10,000 fans at the festival will receive a Jonathan Toews bobblehead.
