MEXICO -  A woman was visiting a zoo in Mexico when she climbed into a crocodile pit.

Stacy Alejandra Torres Cuellar was with her friends at the Zoo La Pastora in Monterrey, Mexico when they persuaded her to enter the exhibit.

Cuellar slowly approached the reptile before poking it in the back with her finger.

The provoked crocodile snapped at the woman's leg, but she was able to get away unharmed by climbing out of the pit.

Her friends stood nearby and recorded the whole encounter.

The video was posted to Facebook where it not only went viral, but also helped authorities identify Cuellar as the intruder.

A coordinator with the zoo says Cuellar is now banned from entering the zoo.
