CHICAGO -- Police say an attempted crash-and-grab early Thursday at a store in Chicago's Beverly community failed because the stolen van used by the would-be thieves blocked their entry into the building.

The store 'The Shop147' is located at 95th and Claremont in the Beverly neighborhood. It sells upscale clothing and other merchandise.

Just after 4 a.m., the men crashed a stolen van through the store's plate glass window; then they ran away.

Store owner Rane Atieh told WGN-TV, it doesn't appear they managed to steal anything from inside the store.
