Man in custody following West Side barricade incident

CHICAGO -- Police responded to a scene where someone had barricaded inside a West Side building.

Officers responded to a call of a man with a gun at a home in the 2100 block of West 21st Street about 11:22 a.m., said Officer Ana Pacheco, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department.

"It turned into an HBT incident,'' Pacheco said.

SWAT members arrived at the West 21st Street address about 12:30 p.m., police said.

A suspect in the incident surrendered to police without incident around 4 p.m. Evidence technicians were investigating a bullet hole in wall.
