CHICAGO – Seven-month-old Isaac Hartley is all smiles Wednesday; he’s the talk of Chicago, because of what his dad did Tuesday night.

People online are now buzzing about Keith Hartley’s catch. Comments on WGN’s Facebook page alone range from “Great catch dad” and “Best catch of 2015 so far” to “He put the baby in harm’s way ... DCFS should be called” and “This idiot should be charged with child endangerment.”

But Kari Hartley was sitting next to her husband at the game. She says she knew he wouldn’t put their child in danger.

Hartley says he was feeding Isaac with one hand when the ball came flying at them, and he just reacted.

Through it all little Isaac never stopped feeding.

Today, the Hartleys are fielding calls from the media and friends; even Baby Bjorn contacted them to give them a free carrier so he can have both hands free.

And of course, they keep hearing the comparisons to Steve Bartman, who became infamous after trying to catch a ball in the 2003 playoffs.

WGN's Sarah Jindra contributed to this report.

Congrats on the great one handed catch! No one should criticize or cut him down for doing so! He didn’t put the baby in harm’s way!
