SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois governor’s mansion needs a new roof.

The Illinois Executive Mansion Association says it needs to be replaced as soon as possible.  Water leaks have created damages to the 160-year-old building.

Initial estimates figure a total mansion restoration project could cost close to $9 million.  Fundraising efforts are underway.

Governor Bruce Rauner says no taxpayer money will be used.
