CHICAGO -- Police and arson investigators are searching for the person who set four fires in a Gold Coast hotel overnight.
Several people had to be evacuated will fire fighters searched the hotel to make sure it had to be safe.
Everything was back to normal Saturday at the hotel, but it was certainly an early wake call for guest here this morning.
From the corner of Chestnut and Wabash the 32-floor Gold Coast hotel with the French name doesn’t appear to have suffered any fire damage.
But overnight people said alarms kept going off, getting louder and louder.
Firefighters searched the hotel. By the end of the night they found four fires on floors 12, 14, 16 and 32.
The fires were all set near a hotel house phone near the each floor elevators -- all with newspaper and a pillow as fuel. The fire damage was repaired by mid-afternoon.
