CHICAGO -- Some Lincoln Square residents are going public with their anger over a home construction project.

People around 2419 W. Wilson are outraged over the renovation they claim has been going on for six months. Residents say the scaffolding went up around Thanksgiving, but the actual construction never started. There are now barricades blocking the sidewalk, and parking restrictions.

Neighbor Carrie Hoffman is hanging a sign outside her home that asks, "Tired of this Mess, Too?," with an arrow pointing directly to the neighbor, and the owner's name and number.

The building's owner has not responded to WGN's request for an interview.

The alderman of the 47th ward says all the proper permits have been given to the project, and the delay is due to new engineering plans that had to be reviewed.
