Escaped New York convicts planned to kill prison worker’s husband: source

The two men who escaped from a New York Prison planned to kill their alleged accomplice’s husband, according to sources with knowledge of the investigation.

Authorities believe prison tailor Joyce Mitchell helped convicted murders Richard Matt and David Sweat break out of jail on June 6th.

State officials admitted Monday that the search trail for the fugitives has gone cold.

Mitchell also appeared in court again Monday.

As a source with knowledge of the investigation said Matt and Sweat planning to kill Mitchell’s husband, but didn’t release details.

Sources also revealed Mitchell was in a sexual relationship with Matt.

Authorities earlier said it’s possible Mitchell was threatened into helping the men with the plot.
